A few weeks ago I attended an event with Saira Shoes. I met up with fellow blogger Gemma beforehand to have a good catch up, and we made our way to the quirky Shoreditch bar where the event was being held.
First of all – the venue was amazing! Ninety Eight Bar is located underground, right near to The Hoxton Pony, so you have to go down a tiny spiral staircase to enter. Inside are different rooms, each decorated with different odds and ends – it’s fascinating. One room was even completely covered in bandages! We had a great time looking at the strange decorations (the naked action men figurines definitely grabbed our attention!) but unfortunately it was quite poorly lit inside the venue and I didn’t realise until I’d got home that the majority of my photos had a horrid yellow tinge.
Saira shoes is an independent shoe brand based in the UK. We were lucky enough to have a quick chat with Saira herself. She explained to us how Saira mixes traditional Indian textiles and handcrafting with British minimalism and a modern eye.
I absolutely love the flat shoes – the loafers in particular. They remind me of going on holiday, and I just think they would look fabulous of an evening in somewhere like Egypt! I completely fell in love with this pair of loafers – how gorgeous are they?!
I was really impressed with the quality of the shoes – they were all made beautifully and the inside had padded lining and seemed so soft and comfortable – exactly what you want from a luxury but everyday shoe like this.
