Another week… another subscription box! I just love them too much! This post is another of my fave beauty boxes recently – The Blogger Beauty Box, created by the oh so wonderful Vix. What I love most about this box is that it features smaller, lesser known brands – meaning you get to discover some new companies that may never have come to your attention in mainstream media. Anyway…. let’s just get onto what products I got to try out this month!
The stand out product for me this month was the Richard Ward Keratin Rehab hair treatment. I love a good hair treatment, as I’m still trying to battle with the frizz and damage caused by excessive bleaching and heat a few years a go – you can read more about my hair care here. This treatment in particular – woah. I love it! It’s exactly what you want – deeply nourishing, leaves your hair ridiculously conditioned and shiny and I am just so impressed! I actually prefer this to Aussie’s 3 Minute Miracle from my June Glossybox – my usual ‘go-to’ – and it is only £5.99! Result!
A very close second favourite has to be the Puriskin Nurse Aid Cream. If you’re following me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen me raving about this. I love it so much I’ve actually already used it all up, oops! I cannot stress this enough: it is the PERFECT desktop moisturiser. Not only is it deeply hydrating, but it has a pump top dispenser – quick, easy, and no fiddling around with lids. I found it helped heal my hang nails – just massage the cream into your cuticles and the torn skin and it’ll help speed up the healing process, and stop the skin from becoming tight and itchy as it heals.
I also received some samples from Veeda’s range. I’ve previously tried out Veeda, and was impressed with their quality, but their ‘wow factor’ is the fact that they are natural, free from chemicals and vegan friendly! I don’t know about you, but it makes me feel a LOT more comfortable putting something natural down there rather than something that has had all sorts of chemicals involved in the manufacturing… The only bummer is that the tampons supplied are non applicator tampons, which aren’t really my cup of tea!
We got another small sample from Merumaya – this time round it was some beauty oil. If I’m honest, I keep forgetting to test this one out – I think it has gotten lost at the bottom of my sample bag somewhere! Oops!
I was gutted when I first opened the box and saw the Blonde Hair Experts Root Touch-Ups Kit…. I’m brunette! After thinking it might have been a mistake, I tweeted Vix, who advised to try it out to give a subtle highlight to the hair. I was intrigued… but unfortunately being quite a dark brunette it just didn’t work at all. I know Gemma really loved this product on her blonde hair, though, so I’ve given this to a friend to try out – I’ll let you know how she gets on with it! Pssst – if you want to try this out for yourself, this is currently on offer in Boots for £6.66 as opposed to the RRP of £9.99!
Overall, if I’m honest, apart from the hair mask and hand cream, I was pretty let down by this box… the value was still way above the £10 that I paid for the box, though, so I can’t really complain too much!
Have you tried any of these brands? Let me know in the comments below!
