Book Review – Dream A Little Dream by Giovanna Fletcher

‘Dream a Little Dream’ was given to me for Christmas by my beautiful sister Emma. Once I’d picked up this book, I really struggled to put it down and finished it in one week, using my train journeys to read. The only thing that got me out of bed in the morning was knowing I’d find out what happened next!

Dream a Little Dream Giovanna Fletcher Book Review

The book follows the life of Sarah – a twenty something young woman living in London. Where do I even start with Sarah?! She’s bored of her PA role, stuck in the same job she has been for the last eight years. Her mum is judgemental and never seems to be proud of her. She’s single following the split of a long term boyfriend who she happens to still see on a weekly basis, as they share the same friendship group from university. Her life seems as though it’s hit a bit of a brick wall, and she’s frustrated that she can’t seem to move on in her job or her love life.

Until something very weird starts happening… she starts dreaming of an old university friend. Not just *those* types of dreams, but also cute, head over heels, soppy in love with this friend type dreams. Perfect boyfriend type dreams. Happily ever after type dreams.

Then, said old university friend makes a guest appearance in her actual real life and it is then that the book gets truly gripping. Are they going to fall in love?! Will she hate him IRL?! So many questions… Must read!

Overall, I would highly recommend this book! It is very similar to Sophie Kinsella’s style of writing, so if you like an upbeat, easy to read rom com, you’ll like this. I also didn’t realise until I read the acknowledgements that the author is Tom Fletcher from Mcfly’s wife! I thought I recognised her name!!
