You may have seen my boyfriend Taylor on my social media, and mentioned in certain previous blog posts, but I’ve never got him to be my lil model… until now! I’ve been wanting Taylor to get more involved in my blog – he hears me talk about it constantly, supports me when I’m squirrelled away writing, and tries not to get mad at me when I have makeup and tripods sprawled across the house. So when an opportunity came about with Dobell to create a look for him, I thought: heck yes. Lets dress my man up for the blog!
I’ve been trying to do more fashion posts on my blog, slowly but surely, but I’ve never done a men’s fashion post. But when you’re standing next to your man, say, at a wedding – you gotta match! I remember the stress Taylor and I had when we were attending a wedding – he ended up buying like five different ties, in different shades of brown, so we could get a perfect match for my outfit. #coupleproblems!
Dobell is the ‘smart man’s choice’ – they stock a ton of both branded and own brand formal menswear. From suits and shirts, to top hats and bow tie, they have everything you need to go from Pauper to Prince! As Taylor and I like to occasionally go for a nice dinner, we thought a blazer would be a great addition to his wardrobe. We were looking for something smart and suitable for work, yet still casual enough for a nice meal or night out.
We opted for the Dobell own brand Navy Tailored Fit Jersey Blazer*, which is currently on sale from £79.99 to £59.99. When the blazer arrived, I was really impressed with it. Some of you may have seen my unboxing on my Instagram stories. The blazer was beautifully packaged, and the second I opened it I just knew Taylor was going to love it.
The material is a comfy, almost sweatshirt like, material. The label says its a polyester, viscose and linen mix, but that doesn’t mean much to me. All I know – its hella soft. Like, seriously. SO soft. The material continues on the inside of the chest area, too, meaning its nice and comfy on the inside, without lacking in quality.
The finish of this particular blazer isn’t a solid colour – instead, it has specks of white throughout the navy, again giving off casual ‘sweatshirt’ type vibes. This is perfect for Taylor, as it hits the nail on the head with the whole ‘smart casual’ look he tends to opt for.
I also just love the attention to detail on the blazer – not a loose thread in sight! Even the buttons have been taken into consideration – they have tiny little ‘Dobell’ branding on them.
It’s all of the small details like that make me think: this is a brand that cares about every single little element of each individual garment.
The blazer is dry clean only – so you know it’s good quality. Yeah, don’t get me wrong, it’s annoying having to take stuff to the dry cleaners, but at least you know that if you look after your blazer, it’s probably going to last you for years, so you’ll deffo get your money’s worth!
Overall, I’m absolutely chuffed with Taylor’s new blazer, and I loved being able to get him all dressed up for the blog! This is definitely an outfit I’ll choose for him on our next meal out – so keep an eye on my Instagram as I’m sure this is bound to make an appearance soon!
