I’m not one to follow trends, but a trend that seems to make a return every few months is a simple one: stripes. Stripes are a great way to jazz up your wardrobe, and are perfect additions to a capsule wardrobe. As I’m currently tucked up in bed recovering from an operation, I thought I’d share my favourite striped pieces I’ve found whilst I’ve been browsing the interwebs – shops like Esprit, Zara and Missguided have a huge selection of striped products!
The most common way to style stripes that I’ve noticed online and also on people out and about is definitely the classic striped top. You really can’t go wrong with a well fitted striped top. The one that has caught my eye from the many, many shops I’ve browsed the last couple of days has to be this Esprit top. Well fitted, good quality and cropped sleeves – what more could you want in a good striped top?!
Tops aren’t the only way to incorporate the stripe trend into your wardrobe – there are plenty of dresses that have stripes, too! Go basic with a simple striped dress, like this one from George at ASDA, which would be perfect for a casual occassion…
… or go for something a bit funkier like this Esprit dress, which would make a smarter alternative to style into your work wardrobe!
Talking of a work wardrobe, here are some other picks I’ve found to make you that little bit more stylish from 9 to 5. Starting with my favourite, this Esprit blouse would be perfect with a skirt or trousers, and is smart enough for meetings without being boring.
Another blouse that would fit perfectly into the office is this Missguided blouse. The tie up side gives it extra sass.
Be the most stylish in the office in these Missguided trousers… team them with a white blouse and a navy blazer and you will be ready to bag that next promotion.
I need this Esprit striped cardigan in my life, too… how pretty is it?! The ultimate workwear cover up, perfect for the autumn weather that is going to soon creep into our lives.
Clothes aren’t the only way to incorporate this trend into your life, though – stripes seem to be covering all sorts of accessories, too. Cover up with this Esprit scarf on a chilly evening, or style your hair into this Zara hairband to jazz up a plain outfit. This Accessorize Tote will give holiday vibes to any outfit, or why not grab yourself this Accessorize bikini for your actual holiday?!
All in all, there are stripes everywhere you look, but you know what? I love it! What items do you own in stripes? Do you stick to black and white or mix it up with different colours? Let me know in the comments below!
