I may be a little late on the whole Glastonbury thing, but seeing as it is now officially festival season, I thought it was only fair to do a roundup of some bits and bobs to get you festival ready this season. Bring on the sun and prepare to dance the day away!
Festivals are tricky places – you have to roll out of a tiny tent, covered in mud and having not showered in a couple of days without looking like too much of a complete mess. One thing you definitely don’t want to be worrying about is chipping your nail varnish! I actually once went to a festival with fresh, purple, glittery acrylics, thinking they’d last the whole weekend looking fabulous – oh what an awful decision, there’s far too much mud in a field for long acrylic nails! An easy way to combat this – Nail Wraps! Check out my full review here on Thumbs Up Nail Wraps* to see how easy they are to apply. Chip free and cool patterns, what more could you want?! (Some companies even do glow in the dark ones, FYI!). Don’t forget to accessorise with some funky rings!
Lets not forget one of the big parts of festivals – the alcohol! Flare Cocktails* sent me some cans to test out, and my first thought was ‘how cute are these little cans?!’. They’re PERFECT handbag size (no, not to take with you to work girls!), look pretty funky, and are only £1 a can. With classic flavours such as Cosmopolitan and Sex on The Beach, you have a bit more variety than just the beer they normally sell at festivals. Although a bit overly sweet and syrupy, they’re pre mixed and ready to go, leaving you to worry about more important things like, where the hell is the 1extra stage?
Everyone is upping their festival fashion game. Long gone are the days of leggings and baggy t-shirts. Festivals really are a place to express yourself and experiment with more ‘out there’ styles. I’ve seen a lot of funky hair colours, but with a 9-5 office job, I can’t commit to dying my hair these crazy colours. I have a solution, though: InstaTints*. InstaTints are spray on hair colour! Remember the days of spray on hair glitter?! They gave my brunette hair more of a tint, whereas with blonde hair they completely transform your hair into that colour. The cans are small, too, so you can pop them in your bag and top up throughout the day with ease. I’m obsessed!
So: you’ve just awoke from a 10 hour snooze after arriving home from your festival. You have a bath in attempt to wash away the mud (and your sins) and although you feel cleaner, you’re not going to feel great. One way to rejuvenate yourself and your skin is to load up on face masks. Battle those under eye circles in particular with eye masks! I put the Timeless Truth Bio Cellulose Rejuvenating Eye Mask* to the test.
Eye was very (haha, get it?!) impressed with these masks – they are absolutely saturated with formula and actually very easy to apply to your under eye area. The only downside of this is if you sit up whilst wearing them they slowly slide down your face! Best to relax and lay down when wearing them. When you peel them off about 15 minutes later, you are left with pretty significantly plumped under eyes – smoothed, hydrated and wrinkle free! Perfect!
Don’t forget your wellies, kimono and sunglasses and you’re sure to have a good time! What are your festival must-haves? Let me know in the comments below!
