So, on my shopping trip at the beginning of November in Tunbridge Wells, the Bare Minerals stand in Fenwick caught my eye. Now I have read a LOT of amazing reviews of the Bare Minerals foundation but never actually tried it. I was drawn to a stand with their ‘Ready to Go’ Palettes on display. They were only £25 and seemed to have everything you need in a little pouch. I thought it would be perfect for travelling or putting in my work handbag or even on a night out.
Introducing: Ready to Go Palette by Bare Minerals
I love the fact that it has everything you need for a simple, natural makeup look – foundation, bronzer, highlighter, concealer, brushes and even a touch up powder for a few hours later!
How did I get on with the palette? Amazingly! It is everything I needed! I’m completely sold with their foundation – it gives so much coverage for a powdered foundation and I would say I definitely prefer it over my Mac Studio Finish powdered foundation. That being said – it won’t completely cover up my spots during a bad breakout, so whilst it is great for my everyday work look – I do have to result to a different foundation if my hormones are playing up.
The two brushes are amazingly soft and I like how you can switch between the tapered brush and precision brush depending on the level of coverage you’re after.
The highlighter is lovely and has a real shimmer to it which was fairly unexpected as it didn’t look as thought it would when I first opened the palette. It really catches the light and looks great under my brow bone.
My only disappointment with the palette is the concealer – its actually darker than the foundation and I didn’t find that it covered my blemishes well. It would have been great if you could have chosen the exact right colours for you and mix and match the palette, as I would have chosen a much lighter concealer.
Overall, I’m really happy with my first experience with Bare Minerals and look forward to buying some more of their products! Have you tried any of the Bare Minerals products? Let me know in the comments below!
