Week Away at Medley’s Barn

So, my boyfriend and I decided we deserved a week away to relax and de-stress. Where better to unwind and chill than the good old British countryside?!

Having received a recommendation of a company called ‘Mulberry Cottages’ from my sister, I was delighted to find pages and pages of amazing cottages for good prices. In the end we opted for a barn conversion near Crowborough, as I knew the area and meant I could also introduce Taylor to Tunbridge Wells (I love Tunbridge Wells and Taylor had never been before).

Introducing: ‘Medley’s Barn’

First of all I want to start off by saying my photos really don’t do it justice, so I’ll first of all show you some photos from their website

This place is stunning. Every inch has been thought out and finished to a ridiculously high standard. It is cosy and cute but also really modern and simplistic.

The downstairs is all open plan bar the shower room and the whole barn is heated with underfloor heating which makes it so toasty and cosy. Upstairs there is the bathroom, master bedroom and a twin bedroom. The house was plenty big enough for the two of us and would easily please a family of four.

The barn itself is situated on the land of the owners whose house was at the front of the driveway – this did not bother us at all as the owners completely left us to it but also were close so if we needed any help or had any problems we knew we would be fine.

We had the added luxury of a large tennis court (although due to the rain we never got to use this!) and the view of a field full of sheep. So cute!

When picking our cottage, I was torn between two and in the end opted for Medley’s Barn because the bath won me over…. who wouldn’t want a massive roll top bath?!

As well as the barn itself being beautiful, we were in such a convenient location with so much going on in local towns around us – although we did spend most of our time chilling out and relaxing!
We did pop out and see the Crowborough Fireworks display which was really good for a free event! Even in the wind and rain they still looked amazing and a decent sized crowd turned up.
The local pub – The Hurstwood – was so quaint and served amazing food – I’m rather annoyed at myself that I forgot to take some pictures!
Every detail of this place is beautiful. I would massively recommend Medley’s Barn to everyone! Massive thanks to the owners and the team at Mulberry Cottages – we will definitely be back again soon!
