Glossybox April 2016 – Spring Preening

I cannot believe I am writing up yet another Glossybox post…. has it really been a month already?! This month’s box is all about refreshing your beauty regime ready for spring and summer – something I am definitely very excited for! So, without further delay… let’s see what I got!

The first thing that caught my eye from the box of goodies were the STYLondon Temporary Henna Tattoos. Temporary tattoos were all the rage last summer, but this year they’re set to take a different turn – gone are metallics, in are white tattoos! Think how amazing these would look on tanned skin at a festival or on holiday! I’m saving these for Summer – there’s no way I can waste these!!

The Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner seemed like the perfect solution to eyebrows for me – one end to fill in and shape your brows, the other to highlight and perfect. Unfortunately, this product just didn’t seem to cut it for me. Firstly, the brown shade was too light, meaning I couldn’t fill my eyebrows in without looking a little silly. The highlighter was not a highlighter -it is simply a nude pencil. There is nothing highlighting about it! It also looked a bit orangey on my pale skin, so again left me looking rather silly! It’s a shame, but maybe this would be perfect for someone with lighter brows and more tanned skin than me!

The Essence Mosaic Compact Powder, well, that is definitely a different story. I absolutely love it! Being pale, I always struggle to find bronzers that aren’t too strong and leave you with the dreaded line under your cheekbone. This bronzer is perfect for my skintone – it is dark enough to use for contouring, but light enough to use for a sunkissed glowy finish – perfect! And, to top it all off – it’s only £3!

I was very skeptical about the Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist. A spray that instantly dries your nails? Pfffft. As if that will exist and actually work!! I was definitely in for a shock when guess what? It worked! After painting my nails normally, I let them air dry for maybe one or two minutes, then sprayed the mist over then for three to four seconds. They dried! Okay, they weren’t rock solid, but you could touch them without any smudges! I could actually use my hands and get on with my life, instead of sitting with jazz hands for an hour waiting for them to dry! This really is a miracle and I cannot sing it’s praises enough – thank you Glossybox for introducing me to it.

I was just so excited to see the Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil from The Body Shop in my Glossybox. I’ve been a long standing fan of TBS for a long time now, so it was great to have a brand I know, love and trust in the box. The oil itself is pretty impressive – it is very thin, so doesn’t feel like it is too gloopy or going to clog up your pores like some oils do. It actually feels thinner and better to work with than my favourite Clarins oil – now that’s saying a lot! In terms of results; well it definitely made my skin feel more hydrated after using it, but I still followed up with  night cream. One result I was impressed with, was how it immediately calmed my skin – my blemishes appeared less red and somehow my complexion seemed more even. What kind of magic is this?!

Overall, I was thrilled with this Glossybox… once again they have really upped their game! Also, how cute is the postcard I got from Paperchase?! I framed it and it is the prettiest – and so uplifting!
