When an invite from the lovely Nancy over at Place in Print for the Artist’s Open House at Havelock Walk as part of the Dulwich Festival popped into my inbox, I was immediately super excited. I couldn’t wait to have a look around the workshops and explore some great talent!
I was so surprised at how beautiful the street was – bunting, food stalls, a giant red dog – it was a great atmosphere and so much more than I expected!
Place in Print is known mainly for their punny prints – I’m sure you’ve seen some of them around on instagram before! I was absolutely usless at working out what locations they were meant to be, though. I was really intrigued by the work on display from Nancy herself (Nancy Straughan) – she had such amazing designs. Nancy herself was so lovely, and it’s always great to meet the friendly face behind the brand! Nancy’s washbags caught my eye in particular – stylish yet so practical! Pen and Gravy’s art is a little weirder – check out the funky doodles over the pictures of cats! I was lucky enough to take home a little goodybag of prints and even a gorgeous printed tea towel – I can’t wait to use them as props for some blog and insta photos.
We then thought we’d explore the rest of the street and the other art on display!
I was lucky enough to win some store credit in a recent LYDC competition, and picked out the grey Blackhazel bag with white and gold detailing. I wanted to take my new bag out for a spin, so I stuck to greens and greys as opposed to my usual black attire. I topped off the look with my Nuspecs Petite Wayfarer Sunglasses (PR Sample).
Overall, I had such a great day out and cannot thank the team down at Place in Print enough for letting me know about the festival! I would definitely recommend popping over to their website and perusing their prints – some of them really are hilarious!
