📖📚 Mrs Quinn’s Rise to Fame - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When the owner of my local coffee shop, @TheBlueBeanCoffeeCo, reached out to let me know about a novel written by one of their friends, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. They gave nothing away about the genre or storyline whatsoever; just that they’d love it if I gave it a read. It felt exciting - kind of like a blind book date!

Book in hand, away I went. I’ll admit that I fell in love with Mrs Quinn’s Rise to Fame very quickly; the nostalgic and heart warming coming of old age tale very pleasantly surprised me. Whilst my typical genre of choice would be a fast paced, page turning thriller; calm and cosy novels are always a welcomed palette cleanser in between.

If you want to have a read of it yourself then head down to The Blue Bean Coffee Co quickly as I dropped it into their book swap this afternoon, along with Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us & It Starts With Us!

Side note: There is no other way to say this, but this book really hit me in the feels. My Nanny’s tea bread recipe is one of my most prized possessions, one which I feel so truly honoured for her to have passed down to me. I will always regret never asking her to write down her apple pie recipe - I’m sure it’s probably a standard recipe, but I was just so impressed that she knew it by heart, and the memories I have of going to the local greengrocers to pick out the best apples before making it together afterwards will always be sacred to me. ❤️

Chloe at the Gravesend store went above and beyond to satisfy my children’s many questions and requests - they were able to hold a Guinea pig, stroke and play with a little Russian hamster, feed and pet a rabbit and feed the fish!
