Ever since attending the Rush Hair Masterclass at Piccadilly, the team have kept in touch with me – informing me of news, salon launches and more. When an invite to the launch night for a new Greenwich Rush salon popped into my inbox I was absolutely thrilled – Greenwich is so close to me yet I’d never actually gone to visit this lovely little town. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the launch night due to my working hours getting in the way, but the team were kind enough to invite me down for a complimentary treatment* so I could check out the new salon!
As my sister was over from New York, I bought her along with me to experience the fun (and, ahem, be my photographer!). She has shorter hair than me, so I was interested to see what different styles we were going to come out with!
The salon was super easy to find – right in the middle of the town, close to all the transport links and only a 2-3 minute walk from a public car park. It was of course painted the RUSH blue, and had some gorgeous flower displays, and the salon itself is fresh, clean and modern – yet also very quirky. As practically every building in Greenwich is a listed building, you can’t do much to alter it, so the cute windows, little rooms and nooks and crannies are all still there. It gives the salon a lot of character and made it feel a bit more homely, yet pieces like the chandelier tie it together and remind you that you are in a RUSH franchise – not an independent salon.
My hair was done by the lovely Kieran – he was actually the franchise owner so I cannot commend him enough for the fantastic salon! As my hair had been cut about 3 weeks prior to the appointment, I opted for just a blow dry. We decided to go for a bit of volume with some curls and I was just so pleased with the results. It was so relaxing to be able to enjoy a nice cuppa whilst having your hair played with, and the quiet room proved the perfect setting for a catch up with my sister.
My sister opted for a curly look too – her finished style looked amazing in the wind – her shorter hair held the curls much better than my heavier, longer hair!
The whole experience was very intimate – not in a ‘shut up you gossipy hairdresser’ way, but in a nice, homely, having a nice cuppa while your hair gets played with way. Perfect! I cannot recommend this salon enough – amazing quality, amazing interior and amazing prices too – a blow dry is currently only £20!
