I rated it a 4/5 - it took me a while to get into but then I was absolutely hooked! There’s a sequel too - I’ve reserved it at the library and hoping it comes in soon.

I also dropped off ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ which I rated 5/5 and would HIGHLY recommend. If you want either of these books, be quick!

Currently on a bit of a decluttering mission so this local book swap is so helpful - and helps save some pennies too!

Arthur didn’t want to pose for a photo with me and wanted to face the wall. Ada thought her shoes were much more interesting than her daddy taking yet another photo. The absolute dream poses for someone who doesn’t show their children’s faces online. Thanks kids ✌🏻

Bug catching at @shornewoodscountrypark 🐛

On Monday, we attended the ‘Woodland Scavenge and Clay Creations’ event at Shorne Woods and had a great time!

🪲 We started off bug catching with nets and bug viewers - we managed to catch a couple of beetles!

🐝 Whilst bug catching we explored the garden area to spot bees, flowers and plants on a checklist provided.

🌿 Next we scavenged for tree bark, twigs and other pieces of nature, which we then used (in addition to some extra craft materials) to create some clay creatures! Arthur made a spider, snake, snail and more!

🎲 We finished off the session with a game of woodland bingo, with the winner receiving a small prize.

It was great fun and fantastic value for money at £8 per child (adults were free).

They run this event regularly as well as many others, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the events page on their website!

📍 Shorne Woods Country Park, Brewers Road, Shorne, Kent, DA12 3HX

🚗 Large car park on site, £3 per day on weekdays, £4 per day on weekends and bank holidays
