Know your menstrual cycle

Pregnancy is only possible if you have sex during your fertile window. This is usually five days before ovulation or on the actual day of ovulating. An average cycle lasts 28 days so the fertile window will usually fall on the 12th,13th and 14th day. Shorter cycles mean that ovulation happens earlier. There are many apps that can be used to help track your cycle and symptoms that help give a clear idea of when you are most fertile and have a higher chance of falling pregnant. 

Maintain a healthy lifestyle

For both women and men, it is important to work towards a healthy lifestyle as this increases the chances of pregnancy. Carrying extra weight can actually cause issues with hormone levels, which can affect the menstrual cycle, as well as the quality of eggs and sperm. Making lifestyle changes such as eating healthier and being more active, can lead to higher chances of conceiving a child.
