So, for those of you who don’t know – I am a huge fan of exfoliators. As I get random rough/dry patches on my face, as well as blemishes, exfoliators really help clear my skin up and leave it feeling soft and smooth. I’m also a massive fan of facemasks (what girl isn’t!?).
A couple of years ago I experimented with DIY facemasks with natural ingredients found in your cupboards at home. I’ve always been interested in the idea of reducing what chemicals you’re putting on and in your body where possible, so the idea of putting all natural ingredients on my skin really appeals to me. I just wish I could keep it up constantly!
So, I wanted to upload this post to firstly hopefully help others, but also as a little reminder to myself when things get tough.
We all have down days. We all experience times when you sit down and just thing ‘F*** it’. ‘I can’t be bothered’. ‘I don’t want to’. Its natural. We’re only human. But what is really important to remember is that it is just a phase. It will pass. You will feel okay when that dreaded meeting at work is over or that homework has been handed in or when your boyfriend texts you apologising for the argument.
I thought I’d write down my tips on how to feel happier. How to make that phase shorter. How to get the motivation to sit up and say ‘Right, come on. You can do it’.
Right, lets get this awkward introduction over and done with: My name’s Jodie. I’m twenty years old and I reside in Kent in England.
I’ve read beauty/fashion/lifestyle blogs for years and always secretly wanted to have one. I’ve got to a point in my life now where I’ve realised that the only person stopping me from doing things I want to do is me.
So, welcome to my blog. This blog is a little insight into my self, my life, my dreams and my mistakes. I’m not sure where this journey is going to take me, but I am hoping it will allow me to rediscover hobbies I’ve forgotten, discover new interests, make new friends and smile a lot more.
Just so we aren’t complete strangers, here are some not-so-interesting facts about me:
x I have a cat named Prince, who is also sometimes called Princetopher (like Christopher)
x Taylor Swift is my secret fave. Always has been, always will be.
x My favourite book is The Lost Daughter by Diane Chamberlain. It was Gone Girl, but then they cast Emily Ratajkowski in the movie and I don’t really like her so the book was ruined for me forever. Cry.
x I love all things Cath Kidston
x I can (kind of) play guitar
x I have an older sister who lives in New York City. #Jel.
x Pizza and nachos are my favourite food.
x I have an amazing boyfriend of two years who is my absolute rock
x I like flowers and all things pretty
x I pretty much only dress in black & white
